Day 30 And then there was 1
Yes, I am all alone. Eric (the best man in a wedding this weekend) left today, but with him many others have left inclucing: Ben, Alex, Eveline, another Ben, Prairie, Karen, and a ton of others….too many to name them all. The camp area at Squamish is really empty. It’s funny how we had to stealth camp under the powerlines our first night and now there are spots open everywhere. Today alone, I saw at least 15-20 open spots. None of them compare to our new spot…you know, the one our French Canadian friends gave us yesterday, complete with a gas grill, extra camp stove and fuel, full coverage tarps (which came in handy since it’s rained for the last 2 days), some extra food, and rubbing alcohol for our hands. Alex, Eveline, Ben, and all the others: THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!I tried to climb today. Key word being “tried.” All my projects were wet and climbing wet rocks alone doesn’t help the motivation. Cut open my finger on my first problem. Gotta love wet crimps. Afterwords, I immediately packed up and came here (the Adventure Center). It was suppose to rain all day today and tomorrow so I really wasn’t planning on getting to climb untill Wed anyways. All is not lost.I’ve uploaded a few more pics in the Squamish section. I also added a new gallery titled Old and New Friends. This will be a section of pictures of all our friends we’ve seen on our trip. There are only 5 pics up now. More to come soon but I have to wait on Eric to bring me back my camera cord. Basically can’t upload anymore pictures until then. So, if you think we are friends and we met on our trip, your face should be up soon. There are a few people who will not be in the friendly face section unless they email me a good pic b/c I JUST thought of this idea and may not have gotten a good picture of you. You know who you are. There will be one face missing that should not be and I appologize. It is the face of Brian Wheeler. Seems our dependency on cell phones has screwed up our meeting in Vancouver. I am really sorry we didn’t get to hang. I sure we both missed out on some good memories. Hopefully we’ll get to catch up later on the road….since you are living on the westside now.Anyways, hope everyone is doing well in the real world. We (well, I right now) am holding it down here in “fun land.” More updates to come, and pictures as soon as Eric returns with the cord. Taker easy,Matt, Matthew, The Deed, Ballor, or whatever you know me by:)
Get me out of this office and into the mountains please.
I’ve loved catching up on the trip! Keep the posts coming!

Matt, I think you are a wee bit sensitive. It sounds great to me, all alone, quiet, and nothing to do but enjoy the rain. You could be here with the d-money and his sister. Love and miss you , Mom
