Day 41 It’s Good to Be Home

I’m back!!! Matt’s no longer by his lonesome. I recently went to upstate New York for one of the most special weddings I have ever seen. It was so good to see so many great faces and great people in the past couple days. I’m sure that you will soon be able to check out pictures of the wedding at http://www.brettandkir.com (there should be some good ones of dancing fools -Carl knows what I’m talk’n ’bout). The trip was super busy though, and I am excited to be back where the pace of life is a little more relaxed. The weather has definitely turned to fall here. I’m not sure how many of our readers have ever been to the Pacific Northwest, but as this place is a temperate rain forest the perfect weather we are experiencing right now is quite a lucky treat. As I sit here at the pub, “take’n ‘er easy” with Matt and friends after a good day of climbing, there is not a cloud in the sky outside. I love this place! We were stoked to be joined by our buddy Charlie (or Charles to some) last Monday. He rolled up to our campsite in an uber sick ride! And by sick ride I mean he road his bike here from South Carolina!!! Here’s a little question and answer sesh with Herr Charles:E: Yo Charlie how long did it take you to ride here?C: Uhhh, like I’m not sure I left on july 14th or so, so about two months, just under two months or so.E: Nice, was your butt sore from riding so much?C: No not really, haahaa … no surprisingly I did just fine. A lot of people complain about that, but I did just fine.E: Dude, how many miles did you average a day?C: I guess I’ll say close to a hundred. In the beginning it was around 70, but by the end I was up around 120.E: What was one of the most memorable parts of the trip?C: I thought it was pretty funny when I rolled into the campground and saw Matt and he had no idea I was gonna be there! He was like “uhhhhhhh” and at a total loss for words.E: I guess I dropped the ball on telling Matt, huh?C: Naw, that was good though, the look of surprise on his face was priceless.E: Where to next?C: I’m not sure, eventually LA and then back to South Carolina, I’m not sure though. If I join you guys and climb a whole bunch I’m not sure what my plans will be!!!!E: That’s right man, you know you’re super stoked to hang with us!!!Ahhh, It’s so good to be here. The adventurous spirit is so alive in everyone we meet. Take ‘er easy, ciao Eric
