Day 129 Tickets….
….have been booked!! Well, at least most of the trip. As of 10 minutes ago (it is now 9:15 pm), we have officially bought tickets for our trip up to South Africa. We will be heading out on March the 3rd for Australia followed by New Zealand in mid-April. We’ll have a short stop in Singapore at the beginning of June, and then be residing in South Africa until some time next Fall. Plans after South Africa are still being contemplated but India is a definite stop during the months of November through February, with some type of European stop before or after India. As with all of our travel destinations, we gladly invite any who would love to climb and share some amazing experiences traveling with us. We already have some takers for South Africa (Can’t wait Portlandians and Brandon), but can always handle more. If there is anyone interested, let us know….the sooner the better. On a different note, we have only one more day here at Hueco. For me, Hueco has been sort of a roller coaster. At first, I was really excited to be here. Climbing was going good until my shoulder got tweaked again. Needless to say, I haven’t climbed in over a week. With projects looming over my head, I am going to try and climb tomorrow. Hopefully all will go well and I’ll get to try and finish some projects. However, I’m not going to push it too hard….Skywalker and a slew of other problems are calling my name from Horse Pens. I want to be full force when I get there.Eric, on the other hand, has been injury free and climbing almost everyday. I guessing he is having a much better time than I:) We both have had the pleasure of enjoying the company of three amazing people that have joined us here in Hueco. Stuart, as already mentioned ealier this week, Alyx from Portland, and Tyler from Vermont. This is Alyx’s first time bouldering and she is doing amazing…..fingers cut up and all. Tyler, on the other hand, has been inspiring both Eric and I the entire trip with his countless crushing of V10 and harder climbs with little effort. Hopefully we’ll have some video footage to put up on the site soon. Alyx and Tyler both fly out early Saturday morning, and Eric and I will be hitting the road. This is pretty much the end of our trip out West. We’re going to stop in Arkansas and stay with some of my family on Saturday and arrive in Sweet Home Alabama on Sunday. We are going to spend Christmas with our families and regroup in January. The remainder of our time in the States will be spent in the South East climbing, working, and doing last minute preps for our year abroad. This may be the last post for a few weeks until after Christmas, but there will probably be new pictures and videos put up over the holidays. With that being said, I hope everyone has an amazing Holidays. Safe travels for those traveling and enjoy your time off work/school. Unless something epic happens on our trip home, the next post will be filled with Horse Pens 40 news!! Thanks to all for the support over these last 130ish days.-Matt

Matt,
Its Anthony. I just wanted to wish the two of you guys best of luck on your trip! Craig and I really appreciated you showing us around HP40. We never did get that chocolate potato so I guess that alone is reason enough to go back! Also I figured I would let you know I sent redneck and Craig got slabalious among other notable ascents!
peace,
Anthony and Memphis
